Born in Orihuela (Spain) in 1982, Elena López Riera is a co-founder of the collective “Lacasinegra”, which makes the feature film PAS À GENÈVE (2014), among others. Her first short film, PUEBLO, was screened at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes 2015. LAS VISCERAS (2016) had its world premiere at Locarno Film Festival’s Pardo di Domani competition. Her last work, LOS QUE DESEAN (2018) won the Pardino d’oro for best Swiss short film at Locarno 72 and had its international premiere at TIFF Wavelengths programme. She is currently preparing her first feature film EL AGUA and has been selected at La Résidence de la Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival.
