Mercedes Gaviria Jaramillo

Mercedes Gaviria Jaramillo (Medellín, Colombia) Sound engineer and film director. She graduated as a director from the Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires (FUC). At BAFICI 2018 she won the Best Sound award with LAS HIJAS DEL FUEGO by Albertina Carri and in 2021 with CANAL 54 by Lucas Larriera. She is the sound director of VISIÓN NOCTURNA (Night Shot) by Carolina Moscoso, winner of FID Marseille 2020; and LAS MIL Y UNA by Clarisa Navas. Her debut feature COMO EL CIELO DESPUÉS DE LLOVER (The Calm After the Storm) had its world premiere at Visions du Réel 2020. She is currently a professor of sound at the FUC and works as a sound director in her studio Atalante.
