Mar Coll

Barcelona, 1981

Mar Coll (Barcelona, 1981). At 18 she begins to study at ESCAC (Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia) where she has a degree in film direction. As a final university project makes the short film LA ÚLTIMA POLAROID (The last polaroid) screened in several national and international film festivals and winner of some awards. From México, the country of residence during the next three years, writes her first feature film TRES DIES AMB LA FAMILIA (Three Days with the family), produced with the support of ESCAC. Premiered at the Malaga Film Festival in 2009, where she won three awards, also won the Gaudí Award for best direction, best film and best actress and a Goya Award for best new director. In 2013 shoot her second feature film TOTS VOLEM EL MILLOR PER A ELLA (We all want what's best for her) premiered at SEMINCI where it was awarded for best actress for Nora Navas. This role also gives her the Gaudí Award for best actress an a Goya nomination. Actually Mar Coll combines her activity as director and screenwriter with teaching at ESCAC.
