Florencia Aliberti

Buenos Aires, 1986

After studying film in Buenos Aires, philosophy at Barcelona University and Paris 8, she obtained a Master's Degree in Film Studies and Contemporary Audiovisual at Pompeu Fabra University. She works in the field of documentary and experimental film as a director and editor.

She recently finished the short film CAN GARDELL (codirected with Sílvia Subirós) and has worked as an editor in FACUNDA (documentary short film by Marta Romero, 2020), AU BORD DU LIT (fiction short film by Leonard Heliot, 2019) and as editor and co-writer in MEN'S KITCHEN (Sílvia Subirós, currently in post-production).

Among her work, we can find (AUTO)EXPOSICIONES, a documentary project dealing with new ways to portray privacy over the Internet through reflections around identity and sexuality on social networks. This work earned her the best short film award at the Zubroffka Film Festival in 2016, and an honorable mention at DocsMexico 2016 and at the BIM Biennial Moving Image of Buenos Aires. She has also participated in numerous festivals such as IDFA, the BFI London Film Festival, the 33rd Documentary Festival of Kassel, VIS Vienna Independent Shorts, 2018 Glasgow Film Festival, International Festival of Documentary Film FIDBA Buenos Aires or Xcèntric Cinema among many others, and in exhibitions such as Byte Footage (CCK, Buenos Aires), Feminist Genealogies in Spanish Art (MUSAC), MAMBA series of Experimental Film (Buenos Aires Modern Art Museum), Pantalla CCCB and, more recently, the exhibition Viral Mural (2019, Recoleta Cultural Center, Buenos Aires).
