David Fidalgo has a degree in Fine Arts from the School of Fine Arts in Pontevedra, where he completed a Master’s degree in Illustrated Albums and Animation.
His artistic work, focused on plastic and audio-visual animation art, addresses the human condition through irony, and humor, including elements of popular culture such as memes or social networks language. He has participated in exhibitions in museums, fairs, and art centers with JustMad and CGAC Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea (Galician Centre of Contemporary Art), as well as in numerous film festivals around the world in countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Italy, Germany, Poland, Romania, France, and Spain. His audiovisual production includes CARTAS A SUPERMAN (2016), HOMOMAQUIA (2019), and REALITY (2020). For these works, he has received several awards, including selections at Palm Spring, WEIRD, and Sitges, as well as the Mestre Mateo Award from the Academia Galega do Audiovisual, the Audience Award at the Malaga Film Festival, and a nomination for the 2020 Goya Awards.
His latest short film, SANDWICH CAT (2022) had its international premiere at SXSW where it received the Audience Award.
