Born in Las Palmas de GC the 30th of December 1981, Cayetana H. Cuyás starts her artistic education in the Canary Islands at Fine Arts, University of La Laguna, Tenerife. After two years she moves to Madrid to study D.O.P at the Film School Septima Ars and then continues Fine Arts at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She finishes her career specializing in Image & Films and moves to Copenhagen to make a 3 years Internship in Zentropa (2008-2011), the film production company of Lars von Trier and Peter Aelbeck Jensen. She starts working in films ("Melancholia", "Blekingegade", "Magi i luften" & "Vicevaerten") in the Art Department. After finishing in Zentropa she returns to Gran Canaria to develop her own projects as a film director, while she founds the Studio Las Coloradas (2011-2016), which becomes a focus of creations for different foreign and local artists. Nowadays she divides her works as a painter (permanent artist at the Galery Manuel Ojeda), Art Direction and as a Film Director. Actually, she is developing her first feature film, half fiction half documentary, THE PRADO AND THE MOON. This project is in process of investigation and tries to unmask and contextualize the figure of her uncle, Antonio Cuyás Gómez, while she investigates about the story of her family & her own.
