Carmen Córdoba González

Córdoba (Spain), 1978

Computer engineer, in 2012 she decided to pursue her true passion: telling stories through animation. Since then, she has written, directed, and produced three animated short films, two of which were longlisted for the Oscars.

Her debut short film, ROBERTO (2020), has received over 175 international awards and 360 selections, including 12 Oscar-qualifying festivals. Her second short film, AMARRADAS (2022), has achieved more than 180 selections, including 11 Oscar-qualifying festivals, was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 37th Goya Awards, and was screened at the 2023 Cannes Marché du Film.

In 2021, she was featured in Variety’s “10 On the Rise Cineastes From Spain” list, and she is currently working as a director on the animated feature film A WORLD OF THEIR OWN, produced by La Fiesta and Hampa Studio.
