Aitana Ahrens

Aitana Ahrens studied at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and worked as a programmer as part of Cinezeta during the Cineteca de Matadero 2021-2022 course. Both courses were completed while she was finishing her Bachelor's Degree in Film Direction at ECAM, where she graduated in 2022. PLASTIC TOUCH (2022) is her latest short film from ECAM and has been part of the Official Selection at Morbido Film Fest in Mexico, FICTV, and the European Fantastic Film Festival Sombra. She co-directed with Miguel Guindos the short film CLEO VENDRÁ ESTA NOCHE (Cleo is Coming Over Tonight). This is an auto-produced film where she also stars as the main actress. It premiered at the Medina del Campo Film Week, winning the Golden Roel (the festival's top prize). The film was also part of the Official Selection at the D'A Film Festival, Atlántida Film Fest, Cerdanya, and Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival, among others. From March to July 2023, she was a resident at the Fabrica Research Center (curated by Carlos Casas), where she developed two film installations as part of two major exhibitions.
