Aitana Ahrens

Aitana Ahrens graduated in Film Directing from ECAM and completed a Master's degree in Film Heritage Restoration and Preservation in 2026. Her work has developed at the intersection of cinema and visual experimentation. She was an artist-in-residence at Fabrica Research Centre under the mentorship of Carlos Casas. She also took part in the Locarno Filmmakers Academy 2024, where her short film PLASTIC TOUCH was screened, and in the Basecamp Academy in Milan, organized by the Locarno Film Festival. In addition, she has worked as a programmer at Cineteca Matadero as part of the Cinezeta programme.

Her short films have been recognized at international festivals. PLASTIC TOUCH (2022) was selected for the Official Sections of Mórbido, FCTV Valparaíso and Abycine, winning awards including Best Short Film in the Disidente Section at LesGaiCineMad 2023. CLEO VENDRÁ ESTA NOCHE, co-directed with Miguel Guindos, received the Golden Roel Award at the Medina del Campo Film Festival and was shortlisted for the Goya Awards.

In 2025, she completed her third short film, FANTASY LAND, which is currently being distributed. She is currently editing what will be her fourth short film, ULTRASOUND, produced by Ringo Media with the support of ICAA and ICEC. The project also won the Amnesty International Award at Abycine Lanza 2025.

She is currently developing her first feature film, ARQUITECTURA DE UNA HERIDA, which won First Prize at L'Alternativa Pro 2024.
