Jorge Caballero

Bogotá, 1979

Co-founder of the production company GusanoFilms (Bogotá) and Estocástica (Barcelona). Engineer and audiovisual communicator. PhD student in cinema and artificial intelligence. Professor at Pompeu Fabra and Autonomous University of Barcelona.

He has been jury of international calls and festivals; and is a member of the selection committee of the IDFA Bertha Fund.

He has directed and produced films and digital projects awarded and exhibited at festivals such as: HotDocs, IDFA, CPH:Dox, SXSW, DocNYC, Mar del Plata, Visions du Réel, Cartagena or Malaga among many others. He has twice won the national documentary award in Colombia and has been a Sundance Institute fellow in the Stories of Change program, and selected for the Emerging Producers of the Jihlava festival, and the Berlinale Talents. Chosen by Variety magazine as one of the 10 producers on the rise in 2020 in Catalonia.

His work has been supported by broadcasters and funds such as Tribeca FI, Discovery Channel, Ibermedia, TVCatalunya, ICEC, ICAA, SeñalColombia, ARTE, YLE, among others.
