Graduate of Audiovisual Communication (University of the Basque Country), Editing Theory (EICTV Cuba), Master in Film Direction, and Master in Film Business (ESCAC Barcelona). Since 2011 she has produced, written, and directed several short films such as ADRI (ESCAC) and ASHES AND DUST (SIRIMIRI Films) and the feature-length documentary PAPER VOICES premiered at San Sebastián Festival. Her films have also been shown at festivals such as the Nantes Spanish Film Festival, Alcances Documentary Film Festival, Brussels Short Film Festival, Guadalajara Film Festival or Malaga Film Festival where ASHES AND DUST received the Audience Award and the Best Actress Award.
Her latest short film, CUERDAS, has been selected for the Cannes Critics' Week.
In 2023 Urresola presented 20,000 SPECIES OF BEES, her first fiction feature film, selected for the official competition at the Berlinale where the film also received the Best Actress Award for Sofía Otero.
