Carlos Puig

Barcelona, 1983

Carlos Puig was born with a severe and rare visual disability called Nystagmus and has a very low percentage of vision. He soon discovered that he wanted to dedicate himself to telling stories through film. Even with many people's barriers to his education and access to the industry, his passion for filmmaking was joined by an interest in telling stories that represent people with disabilities and demonstrate that they can achieve their goals.

He has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University and a master's in Film Directing from ESCAC, where he made the short film EL PRIMER BAÑO. In 2022 he writes, directs, edits and performs SER O NO SER about his experience trying to enter the working world. This short won the Raras Contest for Best Short Film. Later, he shot UN DIA MÉS, in which he reflects on the bullying he suffered in high school. In 2025, he finished his last short film, LA GRAN ESMAIXADA.
