Pablo Hernando
Vitoria-Gasteiz, 1986
Born in Vitoria-Gasteiz in 1986. He began working as a screenwriter and editor while directing his first short films. His films explore genres such as science fiction and film noir with a unique sense of mystery, immersive atmospheres, and offbeat humor. In 2015, his feature film BERSERKER won the Las Nuevas las Special Prize at the Seville European Film Festival. In 2016, he co-wrote and co-directed THAT FEELING alongside Juan Cavestany and Julián Génisson; the film premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival, was selected for BAFICI, and won the Movistar+ Award at the Málaga Film Festival. In 2020, his short film SOLAR NOISE premiered in the official selection at the Sitges Film Festival and won the Best Director Award at the Málaga Film Festival. In 2024, A WHALE premiered at the Sitges Film Festival, and in March 2025, it received a commercial theatrical release.
