Marina Velázquez Benítez

She graduated in Screenwriting at Madrid's Film School (ECAM). She started her career writing for TV series for the main national channels and international platforms (RTVE, Atresplayer, Netflix, AppleTV). As writer-director, she has made the short films ETXETXIPIA (Small house) (2022), JERUSALEM (Tourmalet and Jaibo Films, 2023) and THE COLOUR GREY (La Terraza Films and Carlos del Valle, 2024). She is currently writing her first feature film as director, HOUSE IN FLAMES (Casa quemada) (La Terraza Films), selected in the IV Edition of the Women Filmmakers' Artistic Residency COOFILM (2023-2024), in the I Edition of ECAM FORUM (2024), European project market organized by ECAM and the Community of Madrid, and at the Laboratori d'Òpera Prima 2024 (ESCAC). At the same time, she works as a script teacher at Madrid's Film School (ECAM) and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, and as jury member in selection committees of different development programs (La Incubadora, AFTER).
