Elena Duque

Spanish-Venezuelan Elena Duque is a filmmaker, programmer, critic and teacher. Her experimental and animated pieces have been shown at international festivals such as Rotterdam, Mar del Plata, IndieLisboa, Punto de Vista and DocumentaMadrid, among others, and institutions such as Kino Arsenal or Anthology Film Archives, and her work has also been the subject of monographic sessions at places like the Filmoteca de Catalunya and the Echo Park Film Center in Los Angeles, and festivals such as Valdivia, among others. She is programmer of (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico in A Coruña and has programmed at the Seville Film Festival and Doc's Kingdom (Portugal). She teaches at the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid and regularly gives workshops. Her recent films include VALDEDIÓS (2019), COLECCIÓN PRIVADA (2020), MAR DE CORAL (2022) and OJITOS MENTIROSOS (2023), as well as the performance CURSO DE PINTURA RÁPIDA PARA PRINCIPIANTES (2023).
