Miguel López Beraza

Madrid, 1984

Miguel López Beraza (Madrid) combines architecture with filmmaking. Along with 24 other directors from all over the world, Miguel was awarded a scholarship to take part in the DOCNomads Master’s Degree in Documentary Filmmaking and, afterwards, another one to attend the advanced screenwriting workshop at EICTV (Cuba).

His debut, the short film WALLS, received the Goya Award for Best Documentary Short Film in 2015 as well as international awards. His next work, WITH ALL OUR CAMERAS, premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and won the New Horizons Short Film Competition.

He is currently developing three new projects. On the one hand, his first feature film STEAM AND SILVER received the Best Project and Pitch Award from the Region of Madrid. His second project, the short film CREATURES was developed at the Short Film Station of Berlinale 2019 and at the European Short Pitch. Since 2018 Miguel has been working as a script consultant for the Locarno Film Festival, where he supervises scripts and advises Southeast Asian directors within the Locarno Open Doors program.

PONTO FINAL is his most personal short film, a Spain-Portugal production by Ringo Media in co-production with Makers, Matiné and Bro Cinema.
