Marina Freixa Roca

Barcelona, 1993

Marina Freixa Roca majored in Audiovisual Communication at UPF. She is a documentary editor and filmmaker. From 2015 to 2018, she was a member of the METROMUSTER cooperative, where she participated in the creation of documentary films such as TARAJAL (2016) and IDRISSA, CHRONICLE OF AN ORDINARY DEATH (2020). In 2017 she co-directed the documentary TV series FOLLO ERGO SUM (betevé). Afterward, she received a Master’s degree in Film Editing at UPF.

As a film editor she has worked for the Catalan Cultural Institute, The Women’s Catalan Institute, and the Reina Sofia Museum, as well as in documentary films such as AGUA TURBIA: EL NEGOCIO DE AGBAR EN MÉXICO (2020), ¡ABRAMOS LAS CANCELAS! (2021), BAULA (2022) or ESSENCIALS (2023).

Marina’s work has always been linked to the social and feminist movements in Barcelona, with a special interest in queer genealogies, found footage, archive, and new formats of representation.
