Jiajie Yu Yan

Jiajie Yu graduated in Audiovisual Communication from Ramón Llull University and earned a master's degree in Screenwriting and Film Directing at the Bande à Part film school.

He has written and directed five short films that have participated in numerous national and international festivals. In 2020 he was nominated for the Spanish Film Academy's Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film for XIAO XIAN. And in 2023 he got his second nomination as producer of the short film CHAVAL (2021).

He combines his work as a teacher in film schools with the production of commercials and music videos. Several of his works have been awarded the Vimeo Staff Pick seal and have been shared on platforms such as NOWNESS or Directors Notes. He was also part of the first edition of Spain Stars of Tomorrow of the British film magazine Screen International, which chose him as one of the 10 emerging talents with greater international projection.

He is currently developing his first feature film, SAN DAI SHI GUANG (Three Ages), which has participated in the Residencies of the Spanish Film Academy, Ventana CineMad, Bridging the Dragon Sino-European Lab and the Torino Film Lab, among other laboratories.
