Carolina Sourdis

Bogotá, 1987

Carolina Sourdis is a filmmaker and researcher.

She recently finished her short film THE FUNDAMENTAL PLACE, supported by production grants of Colombian National Film Fund (FDC) and the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises (ICEC). With this project, she participated in mentoring projects of L’Alternativa Festival de Cinema Independent de Barcelona and the Laboratory AccióCurts by Dones Visuals.

Previously she directed the short film EMBRACING THE AFTERNOON which premiered at San Sebastian International Film Festival and was exhibited at Bogota’s International Film Festival as part of the official selection. She attended Abbas Kiarostami’s workshop and the piece she made under his tuition was selected as part of the best works by the filmmaker’s students in a tribute made in the frame of Fajr International Film Festival. She has collaborated as an editor with documentary films and video installations in Colombia and Spain.
