Adrià Guxens graduated cum laude in Journalism from the UAB and in Film Direction from ESCAC.
His first student short film, LA PUERTA, was selected at the Toronto Festival (TIFF KIDS) in 2018. That same year, he presented UN INSTANTE, which accumulated a million views on YouTube. In 2019 he premiered at ZINEBI his short documentary I DON' THINK IT IS GOING TO RAIN, which also received a Silver Biznaga at the Malaga Festival in the Cinema Cocina Official Section. In 2023, he premieres at the Barcelona D’A Film Festival A DISTANT NOISE (Un soroll llunyà), a new short film that continues to explore the Chinese-Spanish relationship.
Guxens has been a juror in competitions such as Venice, Sitges or Guadalajara. In 2017 he joined the Venice Days programming team and since 2021 he has been the LGBTI+ shorts curator at Raindance. He has also worked as secretary of the jury at the Sitges Festival since 2018 and is a directing and screenwriting professor at ESCAC and EFTI.
He is currently developing two feature films: TRES CANCIONES, produced by Corte A Films, which has already been selected at the Brussels Co-Production Forum or ABYCINE Lanza and which won a development Award at FICX Pro (Gijón), and LÓNGQUÁN, produced by Pausa Dramàtica Films, which will be shot next Spring in China.
